The graphics are at the same time not heavy, but very influential. It started back in 2014 as a Kickstarted project and in less than 24 hours the team reached the desired amount of support (money from backers). Back then the game was still in early development and had “Early Access”.
It was a TotalBiscuit (a popular YouTube games critic) video I saw. I first heard about this game in the early 2015, yes last year. Or if not that, then at least the games must have “Star Wars” in their title to at least spark my interest. WHYĭarkest Dungeon, offering a turn-based combat mechanic, would usually a game I’d never look at as I prefer fast paced and action oriented games with strong story and decent challenge. However, it’s the very unique and specific Gothic style that turned my eye towards it and made me stop for a bit longer than to watch its trailer. It’s a simple looking game, mostly static with no real action, very limited animations in terms of video animations. Darkest Dungeon focuses on the humanity and psychological vulnerability of the heroes and asks: What emotional toll does a life of adventure take? You will lead a band of heroes on a perilous side-scrolling descent, dealing with a prodigious number of threats to their bodily health, and worse, a relentless assault on their mental fortitude! Five hundred feet below the earth you will not only fight unimaginable foes, but famine, disease, and the stress of the ever-encroaching dark.
